Fantastic Response from Christmas in Action!
It was difficult to put into numbers all that took place during the month of December when we focused on putting Christmas in Action. But, we are giving it a try:
The New Life Food Pantry received 1,224 items during our Christmas in Action collections, including 82 bars of soap, 143 rolls of toilet paper, 61 jars of jelly, 69 boxes of pancake mix, 79 razors, and the list goes on!
If you still want to donate for the food pantry, they can especially use diapers of any size.
For Morningstar Mission's Stars of Hope program, 144 stars were taken and 300 gifts were collected. This means 144 individuals received gifts from New Lifers this year!
200 lunchboxes filled with notes and cookies were delivered to indivduals with disabilities at Cornerstone Services in Joliet.
Nearly $2,500 in gift cards were collected for the Kadow family after they lost their home in a fire. More information about the Kadow's family story will be in mailslots next week. These gifts had such an impact on this family!
My Joyful Heart received a truckload of pillows, blankets, and pajamas from New Lifers, These were delivered to children throughout Chicago before Christmas.
And these are just the ways that the staff is aware of, that New Lifers put their Faith in Action. We are certain many of you served people in your neighborhood, family, coworkers, and friends!
