Beliefs
Our Mission:
Growing faithful followers of Jesus who share His love.
Our Vision:
Through God’s power we seek to build a Christian community that celebrates God’s goodness, communicates God’s grace, and creatively uses its gifts to serve our community.
Our Roots:
New Life welcomes people from all walks of life in our community; we have roots in the Christian Reformed Church. (www.crcna.org)
The Bible: We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the final authority for our Christian faith and life.
God: We believe in the triune God- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In the beginning it was God who created the heavens and the earth. He continues to sustain our universe and provide for us by his power, wisdom, and goodness.
Salvation: We believe salvation is God’s gracious gift to humankind. This gift is free- not because people have earned it by anything they have done. This gift comes to us through God’s Son, Jesus. Salvation- both now and forever- is received by accepting Jesus as your personal Savior.
Jesus: We believe Jesus is the divine, eternal the Son of God the Father. God sent his Son into the world to become one of us and act as our substitute in receiving God’s judgment on our sin. Jesus freely paid for our sins by dying on the cross for us, satisfying God’s justice and removing our guilt. Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, where he now rules over all things.
The Church: We believe the church is a community of God’s people, who are exploring and experiencing the abundant new life God offers. God calls his people to gather together regularly for fellowship, worship, prayer, the teaching of God’s Word, celebrating the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and service to others.
The Christian Life: We believe the Holy Spirit, the third divine person of the Trinity, guides believers in understanding and applying the Bible to their lives. God’s people still struggle against sin; the Spirit moves us to keep turning to God for forgiveness, hope and guidance. The Christian life is a relationship with God that is always growing and developing. People are encouraged to come as they are and learn more about God’s ways and all the benefits he offers through Jesus.
